I am at Melbourne airport this morning heading to Perth for the day. There are two new retail stores in the Qantas domestic terminal newsagents should see. The Watermark business looks stunning. It is a premium book retail offer which is inviting, easy to shop and very professional. On the main concourse is the new Newslink shop. This is another example of excellence by the people behind the business. Well laid out and signed. Again, easy to shop.
Both stores are well worth seeing.
Completely off topic, as I have said before I am new to the newsagency game, I’ve not been in 12 months yet. I have to say that I have not worked in an industry where I have enjoyed coming to work more. From the customers to the support within the industry itself, I find this the most rewarding and fulfilling industry. And the challanges that we face from day to day, the stressfull moments and the hair pulling strains are all worth it at the end of the day.
I like the fact that, despite being new, nobody treats you like an idiot. My fresh faced enthusiam has been met with constructive advice, assistance and has been welcomed.
I am glad I made the jump from where I was to where I am today and I am glad that the Management took the chance on me.
It is too easy to get bogged down in the negativities of day to day hassels and I thought a positive note might help some remember what it is we love about this fantastic industry!!

B , i have been going for almost 3 years now and i must say i still enjoy it ,it has its moments but at the end of the day it is all good . We originally set ourselves with a ten year plan and the way things are going i am sure we will still like doing what we do ,every week there is something new to learn someone new to deal with and a new drama each week but it is these things that keeps it all interesting . We talked a lot witrh agents before we got into it and a lot advised not to do it but i think it is the new ways of doing things that makes it a whole lot better
