Herald Sun production problems

The production problems with today’s Herald Sun newspaper meant that we did not receive any newspapers until 9:15 this morning.  What was most interesting is the number of new customers who visited between 7am and 9am.  These were people who usually bought their newspapers from the supermarket.  At least we offered customer service, explaining the production problem and providing an availability time esitmate. I gather that the supermarket employees were unhelpful.

Here in NSW it was the SMH which caused our deliveries to be 2 hours late. For us, everything comes on the same truck. So if one publication has a problem we have nothing at all in store. Last Thursday it was the Land at fault meaning once again we have no papers at all to sell for the first hour or so of trade. Not to mention the problems caused to our distribution. Seems to be happening far to0 often lately. At least VIC newsagents get compensation in these situations. We are told to grin and bear it.

SMH the issue here, too. But ours are produced in Brisbane, so it just must be a crap day for printers.l

Late but in time for opening. The funny thing is we were allocated extra but sold LESS than other days. Go figure, eh?

HWT are having UNION problems with the pressroom nightshift printers, deliberate go slows, overtime bans, general chaos, it’s an absolute nightmare out there at the moment, late finishes most mornings with managers having to man the presses several times.
Could drag on for many more weeks/months

More chaos overnight, Herald Sun due to finish printing around 07:00am this morning. Target finish time is around 03:30am. Who does not have H/S?

Why no Melbourne racing results & pictures in Sunday Herald Sun ? As an ex employee I know it is a major screw up.
