$20 million lottery superdraw sells well

Last night’s $20 million lottery superdraw did very well for us, better than we had expected.  Inidividual ticket and syndicate sales were strong.  I think that the success had to do with the lack of other jackpots around the superdraw.

What I found most interesting is the success in over the counter up-sell.  Mentioning the $20 million first division prize pool led to good impulse purchases.

In Sydney, our sales were well down on past Super Saturdays, especially in the middle of the day. Our whole centre was quiet. We think it was the Jessica Watson homecoming – everyone was either on or at the Harbour, or at home watching on TV. It was so quiet, we even watched on computer in the shop!!

I have compared this one to the previos $20 million sat draws and we were downn on the last one but on par with previous draws. Would like to know how other agents are finding the $20 million draws, personally i do not think $20 million captures the publics attention like it used to. Oz and Powerball constantly reach this figure and above so i think Lotto should consider a $50 million draw to put the sparkle back into Superdraws!

“Only $20 Million, I’ll wait until it gets bigger”. I’ve had customers say.

I think a $50 Million Superdraw would work.
