Welcome OzLotto Jackpot

OzLotto jackpotting to $20 million tonight is welcome to every newsagent who sells lottery products. We should see a traffic increase – small given it is only $20 million but welcome nevertheless. This extra traffic at the lottery counter will, in plenty of businesses, drive sales elsewhere in-store.

It is a shame Tatts are allowing advertising for tonights jackpot to go to air on radio, only mentioning “Buy Online” no mention of the people that have made Tatts what they are today. This has happened before and Tatts have stated that it was not their fault, the stations must be cutting their ads. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm I can accept that the first time, four weeks ago, but not again and again and again. Who are they kidding?

If it Jackpts tonight do we all stay open lat next Tuesday or let everyone “Buy Online”?

Weird. All weekend, we copped ‘Don’t you have lotto??’.
    Not so for this draw.
Then again I’ve lost patience, and have felt the need to point out to these strangers who say crap like ‘Well, your sign says “Newsagency”…’ that if they want lotto, they should look for “Lotto” signs, that usually take up the whole shop frontage, and be bright yellow with rainbows.
    Give me strength!
My favourites are the ones who stride up to the counter, no eye contact whatsoever, holding out their ‘winning’ tickets. I just love to suggest they take it to the shop that got the meagre commission for selling it to them in the first place 😀

@Y&G, For whatever reason Newsagency = Lotto in the minds of MANY people.

And some can be quite vocal about it when they finally realise you don’t have it…

We get the ones that bring a ticket in from a different state and still whinge that we will not check it for them.

We find around here that $20 miliion is not enough to get people to buy extra no matter what the draw but maybe $25 million this week coming might. Pity about the public holidays limiting sales due to most of the shops around us closed down, we are in a rural CBD and most are taking the Sat off as well as the other days.
This might mean I will be on my lonesome for most of the days as I cannot afford to pay staff the huge rates as well as having fewer customers.
Good luck to all over the weekend.
