Cheeky National Australia Bank

nab.JPGSomeone from the National Australia Bank visited one of my newsagencies on the weekend asking staff to place this flyer on the counter for customers.

For an organisation as controlled by processes as a bank, I am surprised at the casual, lazy even, way they expected us to be part of their marketing campaign.

The NAB charges for you to use their ATM, if you are not a customer did not offer us anything for helping them out.

We are not a NAB customer so there should have been a cost – following their fee logic.  It seems that they expect us to be generous with our time and space while refusing to be generous themselves.

And banks wonder why we don’t like them!

we have other businesses wanting to post somthing on our notice board, a classic is when the circus comes to our neighbouring town and they want to put something on the notice board and leave flyers on the counter….. i asked for a few tickets once… supprisingly they didnt.. so i told them to take their advertising somewhere else.

That goes the same with tax offfice publications – we hand these forms out on their behalf – do we get tax concession by providing a service on their behalf?

Keith, re the tax Forms, we used to get a $10 credit through our Gotch account each month for having the forms available, must admit I haven’t checked lately to make sure it still is being credited. perhaps the arrangement came to an end.
