I don’t want Eating and Drinking Melbourne

masg-eatmelb.JPGNetwork Services sent me two copies of Eating and Drinking Melbourne – showing off a problem with the magazine distribution model. I don’t want this title. It’s expensive. We have a more popular title on our shelves. It’s a theft risk. It wastes my money.

While the folks at network will say that I shouldn’t complain since I can early return the title, they are not paying for the labour and other costs associated with this. They really have no idea of the costs involved with their ill-considered scale out decisions.

If the accounts people at Network want me to be responsible for my level of indebtedness then they need to give me better control over the level of indebtedness which I incur. Otherwise, how can I be reasonably held accountable?

Mark your lucky only getting 2 copies. As a small country newsagency i thought the 4 we got was a bit over the top

I’m with you Terry. This is nuts – an abuse of newsagents.

It is nuts but nothing new here . it happens every single delivery day . What can be done about it – nothing , cancel the tittle and another will replace it .
Dont pay your bill and nothing will show up . And to top it all off it is coming up to the xmas period so they have a xmas party to start funding so watch the mags start coming .

of topic but what about the victorian play house part works this is a scam if i have ever seen one . you can opt to buy the whole damm thing out right ,that just wipes the newsagent out of the whole equation .

    Shaun,

It’s nice that they are packed neatly in their own boxes of 12 because that’s exactly how they are going back – TONIGHT!

i don’t know if i should give them a go or not , it seems a bit of a stupid part work because you have to purchase the actual doll house seperatly . oh well my two liitle girls will think dad is a champion tonight when i bring the first issue home anyway . i was going to do the whole collection for them but i will not be buying something that i should be selling in my store from a third party .
oh and i have had interest in it from customers already that have lost interest once they realise that they have to buy the doll house else where

    doll house

i put all 12 of ours in the window after some surgery (the dvd had come off every unit) to give this title a chance…..

then i get the email which says the customer has to get the house from somewhere else “please note: the newsagent is not involved in the purchase or supply of the house”

out of the window and early return today.

I am surprised you were sent 20 in Sydney given what Melbourne newsagents have been sent.

So you sold the Melbourne guide reasonably well in Sydney ? I find it hard enough to sell the Sunshine Coast wedding guide here when the Sunshine Coasts only 100km away !

Thank god they didn’t ship any up here to us in Brisbane, though perhaps I shouldn’t speak until after Wednesdays deliveries. =/
