Simpsons Treehouse of Horror comic late

This Simpsons Treehouse of Horror comic which went on sale on Monday is a few weeks late.  If it had come out mid October we could have promoted it with our halloween products.  I am certain it would have sold.  We might have even got the title to a point where it was profitable for us, or break even at least.  With the quantity we get from Gotch, Simpsons comics are usually loss making.  I suspect that is the case in many newsagencies.

And annoyingly Gotch have them listed by title rather that a bulk Simpson Comic category, so you have to adjust allocations for each title. And just when you think you’ve fixed it all, they add a new title and over-stock you on that…

Impossible to manage really – since there are so many, I keep one or two of each and immediately scan back the excess. Same with the american puzzle stuff, I keep one of everything and scan back the rest. This is how I KNOW GG in particular are running up my stock on hand in some months – I should NEVER get more this month than last of these titles, BECAUSE I “never” sell them ALL – BUT now and again I DO. So I know a computer has kicked in somewhere to give me more stock so they can bill me more for their cash flow. It has nothing to do with “allocations” or “sales”, only THEIR CASH FLOW.
