Magazine launch: Grand Designs Australia

Grand Designs Australia magazine launched  yesterday. This title lives up to the expectations of fans of the TV show and packages the projects and stories in a magazine format which, I predict, will see the title a hit.

We are supporting Grand Designs Australia with a display at the entrance to the magazine aisle. We are also featuring it at the counter indicating it as the launch issue – offering customers a reason to take a look at the title.

We have other plans for the title through the on-sale to make sure that we achieve the best sales result possible for the title. In addition to this, we have the title located with home and living titles.

This launch is a wonderful opportunity for newsagents. Get behind this title.

I hope that newsagents have not early returned the title.

i hope this is a good seller as well. great work getting it out early in the billing month…. why not give it a try, and if space is a concern, dump a title you dont sell enough of to make room.
i wish more mags came out early in the month

I prepaid a subscription last year at the Grand Designs show and am yet to receive a copy! Not happy. Subscribers are supposed to receive the mag before it goes on sale in the shop.

Mark F, we have provided it with high exposure with titles such as House & Garden, SA Life and Vogue Living. Mark D feedback from customers has been that they thought it would feel more ‘luxurious’ they thought it it would be on higher weight stock, more like Habitus and Houses, less like BH&G….

Ben – thanks for this feedback which I will pass on to the publisher. We wanted it to be accessible and middle of the road to appeal to a broarder audience of readers.
The content is unique and original.
I can understand that Grand perhaps extends the expectation to something more upmarket but then there is the balance of cost and we wanted it to be a good value offer, over 200 pages for $8.95. It is always a balance.
