Merchandising the New Idea Pantene offer

We have the New Idea Pantene giveaway this week and have decided to run fanned out as shown in the photo in a couple of locations in-store. This placement at the counter as well as the usual location for the title does take up more space but it also shows off the bonus value with this issue. I see this as an opportunity for us to promote a point of difference over others nearby selling the magazine.

I like now the giveaway is tied to supporting women with cancer.

    I am fascinated to know the results of your display and sales. This was the giveaway I complained about previously. I monitored the sales and actually sold less mags that week despite placing additional facings next to newspapers and on the shelving. The following week we sold out of the mag without give aways.

    How did you go Mark. Did extra sales justify the additional space and effort. I note that the following issue for us actually sold better(we sold out) but this week were back to normal. The issue with the giveaway was not taken up particularly despite extra space and location but it is difficult to put a finger on the real reason why a magazine has not sold. may also have to do with pension days and what other bills are around as well as content in other mags.
