We are promoting the latest issue of Dolly magazine at the entrance to our women’s magazine aisle – as well as the usual location – because of the free PJs as well as the opportunity to win One Direction tickets.
This Dolly package is a nice Christmas gift – that’s what we are hoping parents,grandparents and boyfriends will see in the display.
We sell about 5 Dolly magazines a month despite having a high school next door. The reason may well be that we find displaying them a real challenge because they always have a FREEBIE. Most times they need double the space to display them. We therefore have to put them out of the eyeline as we have no other space. The Marie Claire issue has similar problems with their FREEBIE and they are all damaged as well. I have had to remove the freebie so where is the value and will they sell any more. I think not.
