An opportunity to raise funds for cancer research and support a newsagent fighting cancer

Hoopla published a moving story by Corinne Grant yesterday about newsagent Sheree McLeod and her fight with a rarer form of breast cancer and her work raising funds for breast cancer research. Sheree and her husband Adam own Tieri Newsagency – 300km west Rockhampton.

I urge you to read Corrine Grant’s excellent article. It’s a story about one of our own, a proactive and positive member of our newsagent family, someone who in the midst of serious illness is working hard to raise money for others. Sheree’s story is inspirational.

Mark thank you for letting us know. My family has been touched by breast cancer and I know every dollar on research is important. Thanks again.

Running any small business is hard enough as we all know. Throw in a family with kids and it gets harder. To go through what Sheree has to deal with on top of everything else must be a HUGE task. Good luck to you and your family Sheree, I will be donating to your cause and I hope a lot of people from our industry do the same. Keep fighting!!!

Thankyou everyone for your support last year. One year on with advanced breast cancer and still having chemo treatment. I have currently temporarily relocated to Brisbane in July 2013 as the weekly fly in fly out for chemo in Brisbane was becoming too taxing for me and I had 5 hospital admissions last year. Wade commutes to myself and our sons aged 5 & 7 every 2-3 weeks for a couple of weeks as he continues to run our Newsagency in Tieri. I am again walking / running the Mother’s Day classic this year. I would appreciate any donation great or small as I would like to beat the $16050 that I personally raised last year. My team “go team McLeod” raised over $28000… So proud. I desperately need a cure as my breast cancer is rare and I want to be around to see my boys grow up! Once I register for the Mdc in the coming days, I can put a link up here if you would like… So we can start that $’s rolling in for such a great cause. Thanks again for all of your support xx

Well done Sheree, your determination is very commendable. I hope you raise more than your target and would be more than happy to donate again this year and the year after that and the many more years after that one. Keep fighting Sheree!

    Cheers
