It’s all about Apps

Apps are huge today and we’re trying to tap into the popularity of this software by featuring app related titles at the heart of our IT magazine titles. The free cable with The Essential Apps Guide got it prime place in this small display.

I wish we could have displayed this mag too Mark, however as with most mags delivered with a card stuck to the back of them they werent in a very good state to display. The mag itself was fine but the orange card was destroyed by the packing tape. I had no choice but to remove it therefore removing the “gift’ with it as well. The “gift” is behind the counter and if we sell one of the mags we will hand it out with it but I am not going to display ripped or messy mags. Nearly every mag that has this type of card with it comes to us with packing tape ripped right through it, you would think the person operating it would understand that cardboaord is going to be the loser in a fight with a tape packing machine……

Allan, I am constantly dismayed at the condition in which our mags arrive. I also take the cardboard out as it looks dreadful when it is split in two because of the poor packaging.
I would have thought a well-trained monkey could do that job but apparently
    not.
IPS are head and shoulders above the other two with regards packaging.
Every parcel arrives with posters top and bottom (like we were taught to do many years ago) and I can only think that IPS
must employ 70 year olds to do the job because they do it excellently.

    June,

A well-trained monkey could do the job!

It’s the ill-trained , couldn’t-give-two-hoots monkeys employed to put as many ill-fitting straps on bundles they can and their cousins driving delivery trucks whose mission in life is to see how many magazines they can scatter across the footpath and how many partworks they can destroy who are the problem.

IPS obviously gets first pick out of magazine packing school – the rest go to NDC and Gotch where they do an intensive traineeship in wilful damage before being let loose.

Jim – you gave me my first laugh for the day.
