We have experienced mixed interest in the Jennifer Hawkins wedding special issue of Woman’s Day today with sales at a 20% of regular Monday sales in one of my stores – but up on Friday sales. The test will be where we get to by the end of Monday.
We have the magazine at the front of the business, on the leas line, as well as in prime position with our weeklies. So, we’re actively supporting it.
The photo shows what the production fuss was about yesterday. The barcode is a sticker stuck on the cover. It’s usually printed on. While most newsagents did not need the barcode, supermarkets and petrol outlets could not cope without it.
I find that funny you got the stock and I who am in her home town did not really?

It featured on breakfast TV today so we had numerous request. Unfortunately no stock for SA. With the public holiday on Monday our normal Monday sales will go elsewhere so we will sell less than 50% of normal sales next week.
Judging by the number of customers coming into the store looking for this mag, sales would have been great – if we had received any stock!
Our supply just arrived in Newcastle :), however we did receive an email yesterday afternoon from Network assuring us it would arrive yesterday, but they couldn’t give us a time. Must have got there days mixed up lol.

We have 4 copies left and ordered more but out of stock. Done better than I expected.
I sold 4! Certainly was not the day I expected.
Network stuffed up big time here IMHO.
But I doubt any manager will report back to Bauer Head Office and admit such … OR…
do so with a list of 10 things that could be done next time to take advantage of the learning experience…………………..
Had lots of people coming in on Friday looking for this issue, told them it will be in as usual on Monday due to a production error. Sales of WD yesterday was very poor, well below normal sales.
