Moderate interest in the royal baby magazines

We saw a sales bump for the royal baby special editions of magazines in my newsagencies. No mad rush, just a bump. hence my labelling interest moderate.

As the photo shows, in one of my stores we promoted several of the magazines with newspapers – as well as their usual location.

In another of my newsagencies we promoted the magazines on the lease line, facing into the mall, to generate traffic. We got a bit of that but they sold equally well from the usual location for the weeklies.

If I had to call it after a day I’d say Who is benefiting the most. Certainly that is what I am seeing in my businesses.

There seems to have been a blip with OK! supply. We did not get the full allocation making co-location challenging.

Sold a couple of extra Who and a dozen extra of each Wday and NIdea – hardly exciting.
Think I’ll put Gourmet Traveller, Country Style and Donna Hay back in my prime space for the weekend.

I’d like to say that for the Editors of Woman’s Day, OK, and New Idea who decided to release another Mag early in response to William and Kate’s Baby last week wasted their money when they didn’t even put the all important info his name “George” in. They could have just release it today Monday and have all the facts and details.

Has OK been moved to Thursdays now? Saw NEW Issue came out today with NEW Who Weekly. I find this strange.

Got a blip in the scaleout of WDay and a reduction from NI. Sold out of both (SA didn’t get the issue last Friday and I don’t think it would have made any difference to
    our sales.
We sell more Hello mag now than both WD
and NI – sad but true.
It is a weekly English mag and at $6.95 it is my most profitable weekly mag tho it
pains me to admit that it beats our Aussie
    mags.
Off topic but I just happened to notice that the panini stickers (lD and Monsters University) are different languages in every
    box.
Can anyone tell me why? Are we catering to multiculturalism in stickers or
are we just a convenient dumping ground.
I only know about it because a little girl brought some this morning and her mother brought them back “aggravated” with me for selling them to her.
    I was genuinely surprised/exasperated.
Does everyone know about this except me and do we need to put this rubbish on our shelves or should we all just send them back.
