It is vital that your business P&L is accessible at least monthly, within a few days of the end of the month. Otherwise, you are making decisions without the facts. You should be able to to produce this P&L from your accounting software without the need of an accountant. Relying on an accountant for access to your P&L is a mistake in my view.
Agree if you have the ability to prepare accrual based monthly and year to date, both against budget and prior.
Total waste of time if you are cash basis.
