Two questions for Victorian newsagents

  1. Has there been an increase in newspaper bulk delivery mistakes to your business?
  2. Are you happy with the process of resolving bulk newspaper delivery mistakes?

I am asking for a colleague who is frustrated by an increase in mistakes, lack of responsibility for them by publishers and a failure to make good.

As a small regional agent we were left with 5 copies of the Herald Sun when a bulk went missing the other week. A credit was offered and organised but considering we are 1 1/2 hours only from Melb. and I rang at 6am supplies could have been organised which would have caught our country mail/paper delivery runs but no go.
One of our customers, after missing out tried half a dozen outlets in Ballarat and surrounds but all had been short changed that day. More than coincidence I would have thought.

    Yes.

    No, there is no resolution.

Not newspapers but magazines delivered by the newspaper distributor have been a mess lately. Missing bulks and even a full delivery left outside the shopping centre (despite us providing a lockable cage for magazine and paper deliveries) that went missing. They seem to have changed their collection of unsold papers to a monthly basis as well.
Communicating with both the delivery company and Gotch has failed to produce any satisfactory outcomes.
