Do you still use IPS?

Several newsagents contacted me to share frustration with IPS and their handling of the Bathurst program for this year’s event.  One suggested I post here to ask how many people use them. Click here or scroll through – it’s one question. I’ll leave it open until Friday afternoon.

Unfortunately Yes – Best Bets, Winning Post and Trotguide. Everything other publication that is ‘shoved’ onto us is cancelled due to IPS’ business model.

Soooooooo many customers asking for the program as they stop in with us on their way over the blue mountains heading to mt panorama this week….
they stop for coffee at the bakery next door by the car load, then come in and see us to attempt to get the program.
I was hoping to have it this morning so we could actually selling them, oh well….lost sales for them, but unfortunately lost sales for us as well

ok, so we have an update….we called IPS to check on the arrival of the program.
We were told that they put information of their website about it…. Really? If I spent my time checking websites for every supplier (just in case i might miss any information), when am i supposed to get any other work done?
We were also told that it was firm sale…. Really? and we still only get 27% even though we now have to stock it at our own risk?
Oh, and this is the way the publisher wanted to do it this year, apparently IPS had to just follow through with it

originally we were told we would be getting 10 tomorrow, but have had call back from them to say the publisher has run out of stock, so we wouldn’t be getting any, but we’re down for definately down for 20 next year.

If it was distributed by someone else other than IPS last year, then why wasnt the data on who got it and how many they got forwarded on when the disty was changed?
Or did they chose not to use what was in Xchangeit? lol

Subaru, it is common on changing distributors that previous sale / return data is handed over – to enable an informed supply.

To be fair, IPS did send multiple emails months back advising that the Bathurst Program would be available firm sale only and asking for orders. I also suspect that the decision to restrict supply of the program through Newsagents was made by the publisher, not the distributor. Dumb, but blame the correct culprit.

IPS sent out emails from the 13th March advising the program was going to be available exclusive to newsagents 30% commission and firm sale with final orders due by May 3. We ordered and received our stock last Tuesday week. Will sell out this morning.
