We are promoting the latest InStyle magazine with an in-location display. The magazine comes with another free tote bag which at least fits into the fixtures without too much difficulty. I think that publishers need to be more creative with their free gifts. There must be homes with closets full of the free bags collected from magazines and newspapers over the last couple of years.
I agree. I am guessing it’s about the mags branding being seen on the beach this summer, or the gym, or wherever, but please, no more bags.
what would be a good gift that keeps us newsagenct happy as far as displaying the product etc, and also that keeps the consumer happy enough that they can see themselves using the gift enough to buy the mag?
Peter – my personal view is that publishers would serve readers better by concentrating on producing a top quality magazine and forget the freebies. I appreciate that some people are attracted to ‘free’, but I believe that there are more of us who are after a good quality mag on whatever our area of interest is. AND we want to be able to browse the mag before buying it.

Notebook this month with news power has a free nail file we received a woolies bundle of mags by mistake wednesday and they got free salad servers with theirs much better idea I thought,and woolies or Coles not sure which one has free face cream from Avon on prevention this month why not try some more of these ideas rather than free bags all the time
