Can we use newspapers to sell greeting cards and plush?

Okay this may be a flippant but I’m wondering whether we place newspapers with a front page story about the Essendon AFL drug scandal next to our range of Hallmark AFL  team greeting cards and our AFL team Beanie Kids.

    Tough question Mark.

I am all for using the foot traffic of Newspapers to sell other product (I recently cleared a whole lot of State of Origin footies by doing this). I wouldnt have a problem with placement next to cards but maybe next to Beanie Kids might be pushing some boundaries though.
Maybe you could just use Essendon Beanie kids and have little hyperdermic needles hanging from their arms…..next to a picture of Andrew Demetriou with his head in some sand….

If you think it will help sell more product, I’d say yes.

I see no moral or ethical dilemma here.

If a kid is old enough to understand the story then there is no reason they should not be exposed to it.
