Growing anti-Murdoch movement in Victoria?

It feels like there is more evidence of a growing anti-Murdoch sentiment in Victoria, especially on Twitter. Many tweets reference what happened in the UK when locals rose up against the reporting of a local matter by The Sun over there. Given the firm negative stance taken by The Australian and the Herald Sun on matters related to Victoria in recent months, I guess this type of social media commentary is not unexpected. The people of Victoria will have their say at the next election. The only thing running in the Governments favour is the fact that many who oppose them are moving interstate. I think Murdoch has little if any influence in this trend.

Jim I agree. Murdoch’s bad press will be consumer addressed. Victoria is not to blame for such “Yes Minister” administration. It was is pathetic leadersip and as you say will be judged by the people, as it is now.
There is no room for bad and/or low form of media especially in print as its content is residual.

I am a Victorian and historically a Liberal voter. I think the government did a good job.

If I still owned my newsagency business I’d struggle putting our the herald sun some days. It is not a newspaper and people know that. You can’t take it seriously.

I think it is funny to see people outside Victoria say things like Victorians are leaving. Ignorance is bliss as they say.

Plenty around the world are lauding what Victoria has done. To me that they did this in the face of idiocy from O’Brien and relentless attack from the Murdoch papers is a testament of good leadership and committed Victorians. I never expected to say that about Labor.
