FiFi breaking

fifi_broke.JPGFiFi’s World is a very popular new partworks magazine. Sales are very strong – thanks to the target audience (young girls), the school holiday launch and a good TV campaign.

The problem is that many newsagents are having to refund customers who return folders which have broken. The importer tells me they are going back to the UK publisher to seek replacement stock. With some newsagents reporting a 50% product failure rate the rectification cost could be extraordinary. I’d note that my shop has been lucky, we have a less than 10% failure rate.

The overall quality of the folder is great, it is just those hinges; plastic. Is Fifi an exclusive roll out to Australian audiences? If not, i find it difficult to believe that the problem with the hinges is not already known. The Fifi doll magnet has also been a concern here; i have had a few returned with missing heads and magnets peeling off the back. Dissappointing, my daughter loves the product.
i hope it not a case of poor research when it comes to quality control.

We’ve had that problem too, and returning the folder is on my list of things to do today – it actually arrived broken.

As Vaughan said, the quality of the folder itself is great and it is an excellent idea – now if only those plastic clips worked properly!

I have had the same problem too. I subscriced with the magazine distributor and I am now waiting for bag number 4. Every bag I have received the hinges have been broken.

I believe a not enough research went into these as when you have to add the magnetic sheets they would be too heavy anyway.

I suppose that’s what happens when we decide to offshore for cheaper labour the quality is not as good.
Hopefully this proble will be rectified soon as my daughter is a huge Fifi fan and except for the hinge problem it is a great product.

We haven’t had a problem with the folders so much i agree that the hinges are somewhat too flexible but so far mine haven’t broken…YET!…The main problem we have had is the actual magnet people the magnets separate far too easily and i have lost count the amount of flowertots beheaded there is not enough support around the neck, allowing to be floppy and break easily….Good idea….if improvements were made i would continue collecting…until they are my daughter has had her lot!
The best way to show dissatisfaction is to keep your money in your pocket, if you don’t buy they will have to sort the problems out.
