Promoting Queen’s Diamond Jubilee souvenir

We are promoting The Australian Women’s Weekly Queen’s Diamond Jubilee souvenir edition at the main counter with this display as well as with tactical placement in the usual location for AWW.

This is a title to be promoted heavily to make the most of the short to medium term opportunity for newsagents. Other magazine retailers will only act in an average way … newsagents have an opportunity to promote creatively and tactically  and drive excellent sales for our channel as a result.

The product itself feels wonderful, quite luxurious. It’s is targeted well at the ideal shopper.

Interest for this title will peak over the next week to ten days with all the celebrations going on. It’s hard to say what will happen from then.  This is why we are using prime space to promote the title.

Nice if you get stock. Rang Network, only to be told that they selected newsagents to get this title. yet there is stock sitting in warehouse if you request ?? would rather that than half the titles they send us automatically

Chris I have heard this from others too. The allocations don’t make sense. In one of my stores we were undersupplied and had to chase more yet for some other ACP titles we have too many.

I’ve had this issue with other limited run titles too. Network are happy to increase TV Week allocation by 200% but wont let me know there is something coming up that I could actually sell!

Matt, I have the same situation as you.
I think Network supply this special base on sales level, if you can’t hit that level, you won’t be supplied. It is not our 1st time, we miss out on the onedirection book by network last time as well.

We are in an area with a HIGH number of British expats and did not receive any stock. My wife was told that stock was based on previous sales history? How many times has the Queen ha a Diamond Jubilee?? and how do we develop a sales history if we receive zero stock to sell? What a total mess.

i think this could have been the perfect title for ACP to do firm sale pre orders.

then if we didnt order enough or too many, then it would be our fault. it would have also taken the print quantity risk away from them….

I doubt that there is a newsagency in the country that could not have sold some of this title yet it appears that many did not receive any!!!!!

Wonder how they selected who received it and who didn’t ? While we certainly don’t have a big magazine turnover, we received 10, half of which I’ve sold so far.

Chris, be careful of the missing 20, if the yellow docket that you receive with the morning with hand written credit to follow, you need to report shortage yourself, they won’t credit for you.
