Coach magazine achieves 80% sell-through

We are promoting the latest issue of Coach magazine in two locations – with this aisle-end display in our men’s magazine area as well as in the usual location for the title with training and men’s health titles.

Our sell-through for Coach is 80% and above. We’re very happy with that.  It’s our tactical work which tends to deliver the best result for the title. Work like ensuring placement showing the full cover, giving the title a run with newspapers, making sure it is always next to the top selling men’s health and fitness titles.

Coach is usually sold with another title. It’s a valuable addition to the basket.

Once again, we haven’t received the Coach magazine from GG. We have sales which would indicate to them that Nos 1,2 & 3 have all sold well in my store.

I have putaways for people and yet we don’t have the product yet (my computer says due 1/5/12).

It is so disappointing to be treated so disrespectfully by GG when they have access to my edixchangeit files which would indicate my need for this product.

If anyone has the publishers’ name and email address (from a current copy if you have it) I would appreciate it so that I can contact them and let them know of the missed sales.

June, seems as though you missed (#4) Autumn 2012 (on sale 27/2/12). Winter 2012 (#5) went on sale 28/5/12. It’s from Pacific Magazines (no email address in the current issue) phone 02 9394 2000.
You are absolutely right that GG have edi files to make better decisions. Good luck.

Thanks Wendy. GG have rung me to ask when I got the other 3 issues and
I had all the data in front of me when I noticed that it went from Network to GG
and they don’t have the current data.
GG have rung me to sort it out and have
promised me copies early next week so this time it appears that I was wrong (I do so hate being wrong!!!!!)
Thank you though Kathy from GG

We frequently experience issues when the distributor changes and this is most unhelpful when putaways are involved. It goes wrong in both directions so wouldn’t you the the distributors would communicate better??

Brendan this sort of action when a mag
changes distribution nearly cost me a huge
    library account last financial year.
The library didn’t communicate with me until they had missed 3 issues of a magazine and then it was too late to satisfy the backorder (which had been prepaid as a subscription) I had to go to the publisher who was great and got them for me but the library were not happy and insinuated that we were not in
    control of the situation.
Much brown nosing and huffing and puffing and we got it again this year but
the library’s reaction to my problem was “this is your problem not ours” and I
basically agree with them but how do we
    ensure that this NEVER happens.
Surely the “outgoing” distributor must give
the publisher the figures for distribution and then the publisher should pass them on to the new distributor — SURELY??
