The case against cashless retail

When tech fails whether in-store or between the store and the banks, it kills the cashless trading option as I saw earlier this week.

While I remain certain that cashless retail will become more pervasive, with it will come challenges for businesses as this one discovered.

Telstra tower near us died yesterday afternoon, all retailers affected , no recompense. I remind every customer that this is how life will be once cash has gone forever.
Oh, Telstra is “working on it”, Christmas is coming.

If your terminal has an ethernet port connect an ethernet cable to your broadband router if you can. I have one permanently connected to my terminal base

When mobile goes down it will default to broadband, no setup needed.

Steve where I am I was told by turdstar to put on a new modem for Broadband with 4GL back up. Get both working then disconnect the hard broadband connection and rely on the 4GL no extra cost. It is quicker and more reliable than the hard line connection. I have Ethernet and a fully switched network with abut 22 connections at last count.
