Learning from watching Better Homes and Gardens

Last night I watched the Better Homes and Gardens TV show through for the first time in years and as a result have a better connection with and understanding of the latest issue of the Better Homes and Gardens magazine in-store now. I was thrilled to see the magazine plugged plenty of times in the show and in ads in which our channel is mentioned first. If you haven’t seen the show recently, look out for it, give yourself an hour and put it down to business research. It’s thoroughly enjoyable.

Great advice Mark. We try and watch the show most weeks and have found that by doing this you can pick who to target in store on saturday morning. An example was a few years back BHG showed how to mow a cricket pitch in your backyard, we targeted where mostly the men would shop in store on the saturday morning with huge success. It`s not unusual for us to have 5 or 6 different locations in store on a Saturday. As you say, being engaged with the content makes it easier to be engaged with the customer. It also makes us look professional with having some product knowledge.

    Cheers

    Happy Sunday morning to all
