Promoting Woman’s Day at the counter

fhn_womans_day_mchef.JPGWe are promoting Woman’s Day at our busiest lottery counter this week because of the preview of the Master Cheft cookbook which comes with the magazine.  A second reason this prime space promotion is their front page photo of Trishna and Krishna, two babies which have won the hearts of Victorians.  These factors make it is good issue for driving impulse purchases.

i would love to promote womans day anywhere, but for the 3rd week in a row we have been short delivered a major weekly title.

60% of our WD supply this week did not arrive.

needless to say, i didnt send any to sub agents, and we ran out by lunch.

last week it was “thats life” (0 coppies recived) and then there was no stock to send us anyways.

there needs to be a better system nationwide for shortages, especially when titles are for the most part “out of date” within 12 hours. customers have to go else where and start a new habit/routine.

once i recognise there is a shortage, i have to wait for 4 hours before i can contact the distributor at all to report.

might be ok if you have the store right next door to the distributors premises.

some kind of SMS noticifation to/from distributor or transport company to report any disruptions. so that by 9am i can have an answer to my customers as to when they can come back to MY store and buy their copy of Womans Day.
