Network Services needs to lift its game in recycling magazines

Check out the photo from a newsagent yesterday showing off the quality of NRL Poweplay as received in-store. labels from other newsagents stuck on the product. T

his is shameful. Network should have cleaned up this returned stock before sending it out to other newsagents. Now they have to make the product merchantable.

Hi, how about just putting your own stickers over the ones that are there? Im not that fussed to be honest as long as the product is torn or defaced. High demand here for these.
I do take your point that product needs to be presentable but this is a simple one for mine given limited availability of stock so late in the season?

Joe I think that’s unprofessional. Network should clean up this recycled product for us.

The condition in which we receive many mags (both from GG and Network) is totally deplorable and unprofessional.
I often have to return both the top and bottom copies of bundles because nobody bothers to protect the mags with a poster before they strap them and they are often cut through with the strapping (and often they are expensive airfreight copies)

I have complained about it before and I have mentioned IPS who ALWAYS WRAP AND PACK CONSISTENTLY WELL.
I don’t know why the other companies cannot have the same standards.
Part series like the Kitty part series are often broken (Kitty had at least half of our
supplies with broken legs on the bureau.)
It is simply a cost to newsagents to return these copies and a slap in the teeth to the publisher when we could have sold them all if they arrived in good condition.
The $44.95 Vogue collections is a case in point. I sell about 10-15 every year and this year about 6 of them were damaged by rain (not on my premises) or poor packaging.
Not to put effort into such an expensive mag shows the disdain that the distributor has for both the publishers and the newsagents and it behoves for the publishers to know about this.
Email the publishers folks because they often don’t understand why their product is returned and from our end we know the answer.
