Update on Bill Express screens

The QNF continues to lead newsagents on Bill Express matters. here is their latest advice on the moves by the publicly listed Swish Group to access the Bill Express screens:

Please see below an email received from the Administrators of Bill Express regarding the SWISH group’s intention to use the large screens for advertising in your stores.

Good afternoon Ann,

Thank you for informing the Liquidators of this matter.

As it stands, Bill Express Limited (In Liquidation) and/or the Liquidators have no agreements in place with Swish TV, nor have they provided any information to Swish TV.

The ownership of the screens mentioned in Swish TV correspondence is still unclear and the Liquidators continue to investigate same.

irrespective of the ownership of the screens, a number of finance companies and secured creditors are also claiming rights to various equipment noted in the Swish TV correspondence.

The QNF advise that newsagents DO NOT enter into any contract or agreement with this group, at this time and await further information from your State Association.

This advice from the QNF is sound. Check out the Swish Group ASX announcements and try and make sense of this business, their ASX code is SWG.

Newsagents need to ask why the ANF remains so quite on Bill Express matters.

Swish Grp is definitely blatantly open about this matter.
They are now also cold calling newsagents I believe. we had a call 2 days ago inviting us to attend a forum….. definitely giving it a wide berth….

How on earth can no one Know who owns these screens? I have had a look at the swish proposal and there is no monetry commitment required and their new music card looks very intresting .I think it’s time to move on from From the Bill express disaster and start working out what the hell we are going to be doing before xmas with screens in our stores that are not in use ,when they could be selling our products, surley Bill express owes us that much!

Just received a letter from “Pepper Homeloans” requesting BXP (TBI) equiptment rental and overdue payments. They also quote my bank account details. Seems once again that TBI hand out our bank details to whoever they feel. Has anyone else received this letter, and shed some light on the subject.

    Danny,

If you had joined the newsagents class action in NSW/Vic/Qld, believe you don’t have to do anything about it except wait for instructions from the QC appointed.

If you hadn’t joined any, then either you have to get your own legal representative or see if you can still sign up into the class action.

What is this class action about?
    Is it about monies owed?
or is it about equipment rental on a company that does not exist and has lost monies to creditors?

    Patric,

It was commenced by a group of newsagents in NSW and then supported by NANA before newsagents in other states joined. The focus of the action was on Bill Express, Technology Business International and the ANF – and their representations which got newsagents into Bill Express. Now that two of the parties have collapsed, the focus of the group involved with the action is around the future of the equipment leases.
