Sleigh full of gifts

ilotsleigh.JPGI like the sleigh that Intralot is making available for holding lottery and instant tickets purchased as gifts for Christmas. It makes for a nice gift package. The Intralot marketing material has included advice on how the sleigh could be used to drive Christmas sales.

Intralot is offering delayed billing by invoicing for sleighs at the end of November. This is further evidence of them listening to newsagents.

Now all we need is permission to sell this product where it belongs – in the scratch ticket bays we all paid for and which Tattersalls is refusing permission for us to use.

Personally i’d much rather market Intralot products such as this in my Intralot designated area. Given that their games aren’t interesting enough to entice them over to play i’m hoping these sleighs might create some interest because nothing else has succeeded.

On another note, can anyone tell me besides the odd article in the Herald Sun spruiking the snowball jackpot, where else Intralot has advertised their games? Maybe it’s a radio station i don’t listen to, or a tv station i don’t watch but i can’t for the life of me think of anywhere they advertise their products. I also had a customer ask me the other day because they hadn’t seen/heard anything either.

Compare it to Tattersall’s where you can’t go a day or night listening to radio, read a paper, watch tv without seeing their ads announcing the latest jackpot/game.

Is it any wonder they are so far ahead of Intralot in every way and make the latter look nothing but unprofessional and amatuerish? Then again Intralot do an excellent job of that themselves without the help of anyone else.

    Dean,

I have seen Intralot billboards and heard them on radio.

Check out the Intralot retailer communication – it lists a bunch of newsagents who are having success with the product.

Mark, i read the Intralot retailer communication on a weekly basis and given there’s well over 700 outlets selling them the law of averages would suggest there’d be a few that are having success. I wonder what the percentage would be out of all the retailers who are having success selling the product. I dare say we’ll never find that out as i doubt very much Intralot wouldn’t like those figures to see the light of day.

So they advertise on 3aw then? Stands to reason why i haven’t heard it as i don’t listen to the station. They’re obviously targeting the older market given that the station targets around the over 35’s.

I can see why they would advertise on AW given that’s the station the bingo is broadcast on, but I would’ve thought it’d make more sense from a marketing perspective to either advertise on a few stations so you cover all age groups and/or on tv where every age group watches. Not just advertising the snowball jackpot but ALL products.

Without a word of a lie i sit here typing this while i watch channel 9’s Cox Plate coverage and low and behold, a $20 million superdraw ad came on the tv. One of many i’m sure i’ll see/hear/read in the coming week. All i can say is bring them on, we don’t pay a cent for these ads directly yet we all make so much more out of them.

The commission from the new monday /wednesday game alone ,in in my case, is over 5 times that of all intralots commssion already and growing ,thank god for that, some good news, and i easily sell out $15 $40 and $60 10 share syndicates, and i get the cash flow benefit of weekly payment and i didnt have to pay 10 k to get it,and i dont have to “give it time its new” as some say to do with intralot, and theres no extra crazy fees, god i was stupid to even take on Intralot, and still we hear nothing officially from their management ,our supplier,as to what they are doing, why they messed up the launch, and where they will be in 3, 6 or even 12 months,Franchisors are required by law to provide disclosure documents to show revenue expectations and strategies to achieve these,no wonder intralot fought tooth and nail to avoid this type of accountability,it always becomes clear with the benefit if hindsight which companies are integrous and which are, shall we say questionable…why cant the laav do more, what a farce!!

I whole heartedly agree on the Monday/Wednesday figures Helen. It’s been going great guns in my shop and the customers have really taken to it especially with the cheaper price point and the ability to play your numbers over the consecutive draws if desired.

It’s already gone a long way for me to re couping the losses i’ve made on Intralot and will certainly surpass that amount in near enough time so i couldn’t be happier with the introduction of the Mon/Weds day game down here. I raised my concerns when the government considered rewarding mediocrity and giving the license to Intralot and all i can say is thank god they never.

I’m no psychic but there’s no way in hell that the new game would have succeeded had it be given to Intralot over Tattersall’s and we’d have lost even more money with many many less people playing it. I don’t need to be a psychic to know that, just a realist and anyone who doesn’t live in fairyland would know that as well. Even their most staunch apologists (all of maybe 2 of them) would know deep down this to be true. Though getting them to admit/agree to that is a whole other thing completely.

As for the Sleighs Danni i haven’t received mine either but i can hardly say i’m surprised in the slightest. We are after all dealing with Intralot here and not Tattersall’s. They’ve managed to stuff up everything else they’ve done since even before their inception so i can’t see why this would be any different. Not to mention the xmas scratchies they announced would be “coming soon” Christmas is less than 8 weeks away so along with the sleighs they should be here now!

Tattersalls is a disaster wasting my space. They refuse talk about this. Intralot is not perfect but they are not ad bad as you say. Follow the sleigh order and stock will come. At least they talk with me about issues I raise.

Julie, until you’ve been in my shoes or my particular situation then you can’t tell me Intralot “aren’t as bad as i say” You may have had some positive experiences from them which you’re qualified to comment on, but i haven’t which is exactly what i’m commenting on, MY experiences.

I originally was also dead against Tattersall’s not allowing us to sell scratchies in their dedicated area even though we paid thousands for the shopfit. There were several conversations that were had with my RBM about the issue and my/others displeasure but in all honesty it’s not an issue for me at all anymore.

The reason being as i’ve stated a few times previously is that the scratchies are the ONLY Intralot product that i’m having marginal success with. and without that marginal success. Though it’s pretty clear going by who’s buying the scratchies in my shop are the same ones who carried over from when Tattersall’s had them.

What i’d do to get all my old keno customers back who used to play that aren’t playing now, if i could/did my Intralot figures wouldn’t be looking anywhere near as dire as what they are now.

In my shop people are still buying scratchies which are obviously in the designated Intralot area, but they aren’t buying their other online products hence why it doesn’t really bother me where the scratchies are located now because it seems to be working for me ok with this setup.

Once again this is purely my experience and i’m not talking for anyone else. Even though i’m fine with the current scratchie situation i can understand why others may not be as i think one thing we have established around here is what may work for one may not necessarily work for another.
