Lottery sales and marketing advice

Click here for a preview copy of the lottery sales and marketing advice I have developed.  I was looking onlin for simple free advice on how to boost lottery sales and could not find any.  While some of my ideas are not new, that they are packaged (with some new ideas) in one place makes it easy for a lottery retailer to select what they think will work for them.

Promoting lottery products is important given the impulse nature of the purchase for many customers. The completed advice sheet will be loaded at the Tower Systems website when completed next week.

Ensure that any lottery marketing you plan meets with the regulations under which you sell these products.

Technically it is not an upsell but a cross sell that is required. I mention this not as semantics, but because the KEY to selling is to ALWAYS offer the most expensive product along with the most LIKELY (popular) item (e.g. syndicate). People HATE being sold to, but they love to buy and real upselling ‘feels’ like selling and consumers have trained themselves to resist it 🙂
PS: People will surprise you by how often they pick the dearer product, especially if you know which psychological hot buttons to push

Thanks Dennis. I agree people hate being sold to. Our stores need to do this for us through the way they are built and laid out. Too many newsagents see themselves ad victims and while I do complain here a bit, in reality in my businesses, we get about using the store to chase every opportunity. Mark

    Hi,
A scratchie marketing question – does anyone have any stock leftover of the XMAS tree cardboard scratchies display units from last yr? Happy to buy. If not, any idea where in Melb i could get some? Here in ACT, no Intralot – but do plenty of NSW scratchies
    Thanks
