More Oprah than I can sell

o_oprah_magazine.JPGO, The Oprah Magazine does not sell well in our shop.  Its sell-through is below 50%, often as low as 20%.  The low sell-through rate is not reflecting on supply numbers determined by NDD.  As the current supply numbers stand for O, this is a cash-flow negative title for us – I am funding Oprah in my shop.

I was putting it on the shelves this morning, took four off, put four on.

I wish I had a sell through rate.

Always been receiving 2 copies and have sold none over the past 3 months and now I’ve received 3 copies. What’s going on?

Send them all back – don’t waste space on your shelves if you have the computer system which shows you zero sales.

You’d be better off giving an extra pocket to a major magazine. At least they make money.

Of course these don’t sell….being such a specialised title, the majority of people that buy it, buy it regularly…these people are usually subscribers. I just got a subscription for my mum ofr mothers day and it was only $18US for 12 months….even with the exchange rate this is HEAPS cheaper than normal retail.
