Bulk Halloween sales

In one of my newsagencies we sold over thirty pitchforks to one customer from our halloween range.  Another customer wiped our our stock of skulls on a stick.  These were excellent bulk sales in a season not known for bulk sales.

Great business with good margin.

Halloween 2010 2009 is already the best ever based on our experience.   It will be bigger for us than Father’s Day.

    Mark,

We took your advice and also went into Halloween this year. We are not a big shop and have already sold over $2,000 worth stock. Only problem is beceause we were cautious we have run out of the most popular lines and cannot get more…

Ah well lesson learnt, but we will definately buy up bigger next year, as this stock does not go out of date… Just holding costs…

    Cheers

$2 shop sell heaps of them and they sell cheaper than our wholesale price for exactly same items may be from the same supplier.
why do I want to compete with $2 shop for the same thing. Any suppliers who supply to $2 shop will not welcome in my store.

Eric, the $2 shop near us sells the same products from the same supplier as us, but at much inflated prices. Some of our products selling for $3.40 they are selling for $4.95. This may be because they thought they were the only player in the halloween market in our town. It will be interesting to see what they do next year.

Shayne you are right. We are selling Halloween proeucts for less than discount outlets and still making an excellent margin – greater than 50%.
