Spot the wedding magazine

smallwedmag.JPGThere in the photo, just peaking out above Bridal Showcase, is a small format wedding magazine which has not been designed for traditional newsagency fixturing.  You can barely see 1cm of the cover. While I am sure that the publisher has their reasons for the small format, maybe newsagencies are not the appropriate retail outlet given what the majority of us have in terms of display fixtures.

Or perhaps they might consider sending a display prop stand with the magazine, to boost up the magazine in the shelf. Like the ones Lovatts offer for their small crossword/puzzle books.

We have a small cover on our magazine (WHITE magazine). Most newsagents have been great and ensuring it doesn’t get lost. I’ve seen cascades, props, stacks and putting at front of rack and not behind large magazines. Doesn’t seem to be a huge issue for us. (we are 250mm tall)

    Luke,

WHITE is probably one of the few exceptions where you can get away with it. Your magazine is probably the largest of the “small format” titles so it doesnt get lost quiet as easily. WHITE is also in a more unique position where its content and customer base are more localised and those in the area, us included, give it special attention. Not all publishers are so lucky.
