Sunday newsagency marketing tip: pitch a non chocolate Easter

We are have had terrific success with non chocolate items for Easter for years, often selling out weeks in advance of Easter. Our range includes limited-edition collectible plush items valued at $200 or more. In fact, we have been successful at attracting new shoppers by promoting these. And, yes, the $200+ item sale is easy with the right product.

Good idea Mark talking of Easter iam furious at John Sands who have set up their Easter cards next door to me at Woolworths and I am still awaiting for mine with no date given. I am getting a bit angry with John Sands as they seem to be giving priority to Woolworths and treating Newsagents like myself second class despite always requesting seasonal cards first available delivery as I have a dedicated space for seasonal cards which is empty now. Can you put this out to see if other Newsagents are getting the same treatment.

Colin we are newsXpress store with Hallmark, our Easter cards arrived in store approx 4 weeks ago, before Valentine’s Day.

Another store which we take over tomorrow have Hallmark Easter waiting for us and they arrived about a fortnight ago, basically a week after we placed the order.

Cards are far too important to our businesses to be not given top priority.
I’d be ditching John Sands and having something completely different to Woolies as well as a company with better service.
