Careful magazine adjacency drives purchases

We take care with our magazine adjacencies. This placement of vegetarian titles is a good example. By taking care to get common niche titles next to each other we tend to drive multiple purchases from the same niche.

It can be a challenge to get this done when putting magazines out – so we run through the department later in the day, tweaking placement solely to drive multiple title purchases.

    Great hint.
I LOVE putting something with something else related and getting extra sales ! Sometimes it’s just a matter of shaking the cello bags down so the title can be clearly read. My guess is that two-thirds of my customers buy two or more magazines at once, so I’m constantly looking out for pairings. I do ‘the walk” to rearrange mags up to three times on busy days, and always check sales from the evening before the next day to see what area may need attention. This helps with stationery also – one sale can sometimes deplete an area and I move swiftly to refill, reorder and rearrange.
