Smaller newspapers expected to rise in the US

Kind of in line with a trend I have talked about here when reporting sales growth for regional and foreign language newspapers, a report out of the US is predicting growth for small circa. newspapers. Specialisation is a good business plan for newsagents who want to remain true to the historic core of the business.

The problem with the smaller newspapers is they give them away and expect newsagents to give them FREE space. That space costs us money and like so many products only provide traffic no profit. We should be paid to distribute them after all they are been paid by the advertisers.

Small newspapers in the Bush are thriving with far better prices and returns to the business when compared to some daily newspapers. Over Half my business is devoted to small country newspapers some as small as 2 or 3 sheets.
