Do you send cards to your customers?

I know of several newsagents who send birthday and Christmas cards to customers. If you do, please share your experience here: why you do it and how your customers respond.

Yes! Every Christmas, we send cards to customers who hold accounts, regulars and those who have keepaway magazines.

Furthermore, we send Christmas cards to the landlord and our lawyers and bank manager. And also give boxes of chocolate (generally Guylian) to our couriers.

Why? It shows that we are human, not just a company.

The most common response from our customers is a thank you and their continued business.

As a result of Christmas giving, we’ve noticed:
+ Bank manger and lawyers are more responsive to our calls and e-mails through out the year.
+ Parcels seem to be delivered on time and are handled with care by our local couriers.

I should note that we do not send Birthday Cards.
