A blog on issues affecting Australia's newsagents, media and small business generally. More ...

Anonymous mail

I have received four pieces of mail over the last two weeks from people asking me to publish material related to entities serving the newsagency channel. Each piece relates to national organisations in the channel.

One piece is highly critical and, I suspect, if published, would be open to legal challenge. The pieces are not related to businesses my businesses compete with.

Those who sent the material, and it may be several people, want this blog to be used to serve their agenda. They should find their own platform.

Very supportive of efforts to keep the blog independent of those with hidden agendas. Do feel the blog would benefit from postings by persons other than yourself, in their name.

The downside of all articles being attributed to yourself is that the blog can appear unbalanced and serving your agenda.

I recall sometime ago seeing a retail blog where you were a regular contributor amongst several others.

Colin, you are mistaken, I have never contributed to any blog other than ones I publish. Some posts from here are taken, with permission, and published through the Better Retailing publication in the UK and have been for several years.

Yeah, that would be where I saw you as being a contributor. Same principle though.
